Taichi Nishimura (西村 太一, Nishimura Taichi) is the main protagonist of the series. He is a 16-year-old high school student and role-iplaying game fan blessed with good reflexes but lacking ambition.
Appearance[]
Taichi seems to be a 16 year old Japanese/American boy with messy black hair and silvery grey colored eyes. He has light skin tone with an athletic physique.
Personality[]
Taichi is best described as a kind, carefree, humble and very optimistic guy even to the point of self-sacrifice and somewhat lazy and also a fan of RPG games with athletic capabilities but lacks ambition. He keeps a clear head in a crisis situation, but can be dense in regards to reading certain situations such as not knowing when he is being made fun of. Despite Taichi possessing a high level of magical power, he doesn't let it go to his head and has stated that he has no interest in getting involved with politics or becoming a king or ruler; deeming those things to be too much of a hassle and too much responsibility. Initially Taichi was somewhat arrogant of his power as he believed that he could take on anyone while at the same time being fearful of it because he lacked the willingness to accept Aerial's power, but after Anastasia's death and asking Aerial for more power, he became humbled by the experience which enhances Taichi's resolve to save all those he cares for and just like Rin he wishes to use his power responsibly and prefers to avoid killing people if possible.
In the story it hints that he thinks of Rin Azuma romantically, but just like her, he is too shy to admit his feelings.

Abilities[]
When Taichi is displaced into Altia, he gains tremendous magical abilities (his magical capacity level is measured at 120,000, his magical power level at 40,000), ranking him as a natural (and very rare) Unique Magician who can directly tap into the elemental magical forces (as opposed to a normal Magician, who has to chant a spell in order to make use of them). His specialty magic is being a Summoner who can directly call upon elemental spirits - in his case, Aerial - and their powers. Because of his power level giving him such a distinct advantage over most opponents, he considers himself a 'cheat' Magician;
After his first encounter with Cassim, Remia analyzes his unique magic to be a Summoner.
- Osmosis Blast (浸透衝波):[1]
- Summoner (召喚術師): To summon spirits and tap directly into the power and elemental forces such as Earth, Fire, Wind and Water (as opposed to a Magician, who has to chant a spell in order to make use of them) to augment his physical abilities.
- Elemental Sylpheed: The wind spirit with whom Taichi first formed a contract. Otherwise known as Airy, who later evolved into Sylpheed during the Battle of Marwalt.
- Elemental Spell-break: The power to deconstruct spells at their core. Shown in the battle of Marwalt, disintegrating the bloody rhapsody magic circle by injecting pure magic power into it, through the power of Sylphy, the spirit queen and one of the four 'great spirits'.
Spirit Enhanced Abilities[]
- 'Downburst (ダウンバースト): Using Airy's powers, the user summons a powerful tornado that pummels any large opponent down to ground level.[2]
- He has fire and all the other spirit-type affinities.

Relationships[]
Rin Azuma:
Rin and Taichi are childhood friends, they were together forever until they are summoned to another world (it was supposed to be just Taichi, but Rin jumped into the summoing circle to help/join him) then they both become Adventurers seeking to support themselves and meet new friends. Taichi promises Rin that they will return to their world together. Then they go both get involved in a war which shows Taichi, on several occasions, that he cares about Rin, in which just before the end of the war, he promises to protect her; showing that he feels romantic feelings towards her as well and now a boyfriend.
Myura:
She is one of the most reliable of Taichi's partners, both of them trust each other and after several moments Myura shows concern and feelings towards Taichi.
Lemiya:
She is both Taichi's & Rin's Sensei/Teacher, she taught him everything she could enabling Taichi to know everything he needs about being an adventurer in which after they both grow bigger and more confident.
Guild Friends:
Fueton was one of the first friends they met who helped them to be adventurers, later they see each other again on some missions, seeing themselves as comrades.
He was the one who recommended them to go with Myura to see Lemiya, also someone who understands Taichi's strength and abilities better.
She was an assassin who was hired to eliminate Taichi, only that he forgave her and handed her over to the guild. They again meet again when Taichi is alone in the city there he defends a damsel in distress/danger in which he then discovers that she was actually one of the assassins whom he didnt kill and in which at that time the words he said: "I will not let you sleep", then both discover what is under the city demonstrating their relationship growing. Later, Anastasia is hyptotised/controlled to goto Taichi in the midst of the battlefield (with the two-headed dragon) in which she dies taking the hit for Taichi creating a great depression for himself that Anastasia died. After the battle, Taichi often remembers Anastasia on several occasions.
Camila & Melo:
At first they were Taichi's enemies, but he rescues them both when the orb that controlled the goblins was destroyed to which the goblins attacked everyone in the room which consisted of themselves and Taichi, whom then at his own safety, takes the risk and then saves both of them. Afterwards being saved, they become friends; due to them seeing for themselves that Taichi is good (it assumed they were probably told that Taichi was evil/bad -- but is not shown) and saved them from their own shortsightedness.
She is the person who invoked/summoned Taichi and Rin and is shown when her father sends for Lemiya and her group. She reveals the truth that it was she who invoked/summoned them also showing regret for her involving them in their problem(s) and also thanks them for understanding their reasons, later she promises Taichi & Rin that she will help return them to their world.
Taichi and the King of Elistein have a not-so-great, but good friendship.
She and Taichi met at the palace when Lemiya was summoned to the palace together with Taichi, Rin & Myura. Afterwards she asks to spar against Taichi to see how good he is and after he wins, she proposes to be his wife or even his concubine if he already has his heart set on someone, a proposal that makes Taichi hesitate and exclaim he's too young for marriage

She was one of the great fairy leaders apparently she was connected to taichi as you see her talking to him even in the original world of taichi
The duke of stein
He and Taichi see each other in his camp suggesting that he end the war because Taichi doesn't want either side to end up losing, but the Duke doesn't know after helping him stop the Nymex spell.

Cassim:
He was one of the main enemies that taichi faced but also the one who had the job of finding the summoned one had a taichi against him and his magical dress which taichi unleashes all his fury causing casin to lose an arm, then he plans to take revenge for that he asks him Cardinal to give him an object for advantage which he uses in the taichi combat then helps him on the spirit that comes out of the object then they both say they will fight again.
Grammys:
They only saw each other on a few occasions but even so they carry a respect.

Taichi and inimeex saw each other when taichi met the duke then inimeex begins his spell putting everyone in trouble then taichi makes a decision to completely defeat inimeex in his magical form during the battle inimeex tells him the plans shade has for him fulfilling his work.

She was both the one who started the summoning of taichi and the battle he faced (the battle of the dragon and the war with the spell of inimeex) in order to strengthen taichi and prepare him for his plans later.
Etymology[]
- The name Taichi means "thick, big" (太) (ta) and "one" (一) (ichi).
- Taichi's surname Nishimura means "west" (西) (nishi) and "town, village" (村) (mura).
